What
is RoVacs history?
Company Profile:
RoVac Systems was
started after 12 years of providing quality service in the dryer vent
cleaning, air duct cleaning and chimney cleaning fields. Our service company
is under the name Magic Brush Chimney & Air Duct Specialists and was
started as a part-time business that has grown to a very high profit full-time
venture.
Several years ago
we realized that the future was in dryer vent cleaning. After trying every
method of cleaning available, which included hand brushing, blowers, air
pressure, heavy drive cables, and rods that screwed together or had connectors
that required a tool to get them apart, we set out to design equipment
that would fill the need in our own company. Once we had the basic system,
we refined it by using it extensively in our own company.
We are now the leaders
in the manufacturing of dryer vent cleaning equipment and also in the
promotion of public awareness. Our main goal is to help our customers
succeed in any way
possible and to provide the best equipment at a fair price.
Here
is a list of the great things we have to offer:
- Easy To Use Equipment At An Affordable Price
- Extensive Training
- Financing
- Effective Marketing
- Ongoing Technical Support
- The First And Only HEPA Filtered Chimney Vac
- Add-On Chimney Cleaning Kit (ads to your dryer vent system)
- Complete Chimney Cleaning System
- Complete Air Duct Cleaning System

Why clean
dryer vents?
1) Lint build-up creates
an extreme fire hazard.
2) Blocked vents cause the dryer to work harder which shortens the life
of the appliance.
3) Cleaning a blocked or restricted vent system reduces drying time which
increases the efficiency of the dryer.
4) Reducing the drying time of the dryer saves money on utility bills
and also on repair cost.

Where
is the market for dryer vent cleaning?
- Almost every home
in America. It is estimated that in 1997 there were 73 million household
dryers in use. (7 out of 10 homes)
- Laundromats
- Condominium complexes
- Beauty salons
- Hotels
- Hospitals
All of the above have laundry facilities which need servicing. Some of
which are mandated by the state or by the insurance companies to have
the dryer vents cleaned on a yearly basis.

How
does the RoVac System Work?
In order to thoroughly
remove heavy lint deposits safely and effectively, it is a necessity to
combine the suction from our high powered vacuum with our rotating brush
system.
Here
are the 3 basic cleaning methods:
1)
Cleaning from outside: The high powered vacuum is placed near the
dryer inside the home.
With the vacuum running, the lint from within the dryer is thoroughly
cleaned. Next, the vacuum is attached to the vent, which leads to the
exterior. With the exterior vent hood clipped in the open position, there
will be a tremendous amount of airflow and suction through the entire
vent. The rotating brush is then fed into the vent from the exterior toward
the vacuum. As the lint is loosened by the rotating brush, it is pulled
through the vent and collected in the vacuum.
2)
Cleaning from inside:
In this method, the vacuum is connected to the exterior vent hood. With
the vacuum running, the lint within the dryer is cleaned. Once the dryer
is cleaned, the rotating brush is fed through the vent toward the vacuum
to the exterior.
3)
Cleaning with the Y Adaptor:
This method will allow you to clean when it is raining or snowing outside.
Assuming you can still access the exterior vent hood safely, clip the
vent hood in the open position. Clean the dryer as mentioned earlier and
then feed the FlexRods through the vent using the GuideBall. When the
ball reaches the exterior, attach the brush to the FlexRods. Then, on
the interior, attach the vacuum hose and the dryer vent to the Y
Adaptor. Rotate the brush as you pull the rods toward you until the brush
reaches the Y Adaptor.
The RoVac System combines
state-of-the-art equipment to make you the top professional in your area.

What
can I charge for dryer vent cleaning?
There are many factors
that will effect what you will be able to charge for your services. For
instance, some areas can support higher prices than others. Also, the
more value and professionalism you add to your services, the more people
will be willing to pay to have the job done right. The length of the vent
and the difficulty of the overall job will also effect pricing.
The following is a
realistic example of what you can charge for residential dryer vent cleaning.
For vents ranging
10 to 15 feet in length ........................$ 55.00 to $ 85.00
(Approx. time to clean = 30 min. to 45 min.)
For vents 15 to 35 feet in length ....................................$
85.00 to $ 165.00
(Approx. time to clean = 30 min. to 90 min.)
For vents with a birds nest or other blockage add .......+ $ 45.00 to
$ 85.00
It is safe to say that you can easily do 5 to 7 residential jobs per day.
Commercial dryer vents are going to change substantially from job to job
depending on the number of dryers and the complexity of the system. As
you gain a little experience in the commercial market, you will be able
to quote each job based on the estimated time that it will take to do
the job. By creating two separate rates, one for a half day and one for
a full day, you will be able to cover yourself if the job takes a little
longer than expected.
Important Note:
The above is to be used for information purposes only and is not part
of a sales or marketing program. Individual pricing may vary.

Are
there any additional services I can provide?
Yes.
Replacement
of white vinyl venting.
Many state codes outlaw the use of white vinyl flexible venting. It is
recommended that this type of venting be replaced with metal flex or rigid
piping. Vinyl venting catches the lint faster and is prone to melting
during high temperature situations. All dryer manufacturers specify metal
venting in their installation instructions.
Installation
of bird guards.
Many exterior vent hoods for both dryers and bathroom vents need bird
guards to prevent the birds from building nests in the vent.
Removal
of birds nests from bathroom vents.
You will find that many bathroom vents will need to be cleaned as well
to remove a birds nest.

Why
not just replace the vent?
Because many homes
dont have a short 5' to 10' section of vent running from the dryer
to the basement window. Many homes and condominium complexes have a 20'
to 50' vent pipe that is installed behind walls and ceilings. Most of
which have 2 or 3 bends. It is not possible to replace these vents. Also,
many homeowners do not feel comfortable replacing the vent themselves
or cant physically do it.
Another important
point is that even if the vent is replaced, it is equally important to
properly remove lint build-up from within the dryer and also around the
dryer. It will be your job to make homeowners and management companies
realize that they truly need to have the dryer and the dryer vent system
cleaned and inspected by a professional.

What
else do I need to get started?
A
3/8 cordless drill with an adjustable clutch. The reason we dont
supply the drill is because we realize that most people already have one.
If you dont, it is more cost effective for you to buy one locally.
We have always used DeWalt drills and have found them to be very reliable.
It is recommended that you have a second battery pack so that you always
have a fresh battery ready when the other one runs out.
A
vehicle. You
wont need anything fancy to get started. You can very easily work
out of a blazer, station wagon, pick-up truck or a mini van.
A
ladder. You
will eventually need to get an extension ladder to reach some of the vents.
The size ladder you get will depend on your area and the situations most
commonly encountered.
Basic
liability insurance.
Talk to your insurance agent and have him get quotes from two or three
different companies. Just to give you an idea, it will probably be in
the area of $30 to $50 per month.

Are A Few Testimonials
Mike Gossett
(Air Duct Cleaning Company, NY)
Weve seen the demand for dryer vent cleaning grow tremendously
over the past four years but we just didnt have the equipment to
clean them. When we saw the ad for The RoVac System, we were very interested.
Once we got the equipment, we were all very impressed with the quality
and the professional look. We were more impressed by the amazing suction
the vacuum has. I can tell you from years of experience in the field that
for cleaning dryer vents, nothing works better than the combination of
the rotating brush and the high powered vacuum.

Bill Stevens
(Affordable Dryer Vent Cleaning, CT)
I can honestly say that, at first, I was a little unsure of the
actual need for dryer vent cleaning. But once I started talking to people,
I found that many of them realized that there was some type of fire hazard
associated with the lint in their dryer vent but never thought to have
it cleaned until I mentioned it. When I told them I was thinking about
going into the business, they all told me to call them so they could get
theirs done. I have a full time job and clean dryer vents on the
weekends. Im finding that I can make more money working on weekends
than I make all week long at my regular job. I hope to be full time soon
and would recommend The RoVac System to anyone.

Bill Whitford
(Associated Vent Cleaning, PA)
This is for real! If youre looking for a niche service, this
is it. Theres no doubt in my mind that dryer vent cleaning is going
to be one of the best small businesses of the new millennium. I realize
the importance of being in the right place at the right time. When I saw
the ad for The RoVac System, I knew this was my chance to become the first
and only professional in my area. I cant be happier with the way
the equipment works. The vacuum has more suction than I ever thought possible
and the rotating brush is ideal for loosening lint and for cleaning those
long runs with lots of turns. I always get compliments on the vacuum.
People see me at work and say, wow, there is no way I could have done
that. When I show them what I pulled out of the vent, they are always
eager to book a repeat cleaning. My personal thanks to RoVac Systems for
stepping up to the plate and creating a new service industry.
Keep up the good work!
